Partner Spotlight

At 47th Avenue, we believe that collaboration is key to addressing complex challenges effectively and we're grateful to partner with so many impactful organizations. Each featured partner represents a unique perspective, expertise, and approach to tackling important issues. By highlighting a different partner each month, we aim to showcase the collective efforts being made and inspire others to join us in creating a better future for all children and families in King County.

November Spotlight:

Boys and Girls Clubs of Bellevue

This month we are proud to spotlight the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue (BGCB), an organization that has been a steady source of support for youth and a bright spot in our community for over 70 years. BGCB serves more than 16,000 young people annually across 18 club locations, providing a safe, enriching environment where children and teens can learn, grow, and thrive.

This summer, we had the opportunity to visit the Lake Hills Clubhouse, and we were truly amazed by the variety of activities and opportunities available to the kids. From using a virtual reality headset to learn how to change the oil in a car or fly an airplane, to learning cooking skills in the commercial grade kitchen, to learning how to record and produce music in a fully equipped studio, the options were endless. It was clear that BGCB is dedicated to offering programs that appeal to all interests, ensuring that club members are exposed to a variety of skills and opportunities that may not be otherwise available or accessible to them in their day to day lives.

What stood out even more than the activities was the sense of community and safety that permeated the Clubhouse. The kids clearly feel at home here—knowing the staff well, and in turn, being known by them. The atmosphere felt like a family, where children are not only supported in their academic and personal growth but also nurtured emotionally. This sense of belonging is a testament to the dedicated staff who create a warm, welcoming space for every child who walks through the door.

At the 47th Avenue Foundation, we believe in BGCB’s mission to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as caring, productive, and responsible citizens. We are honored to support their efforts to create spaces like Lake Hills Clubhouse, where kids can grow in safety, surrounded by a community that feels like home.
