Look, Listen & Learn TV

This month, we are delighted to shine a spotlight on Look, Listen + Learn TV (LL+L TV). Founded in 2008, LL+L TV is dedicated to transforming media representation and fostering early learning development, with a particular focus on children of color. Each episode features Auntie Lena and her friend Possum exploring a new topic through visits to places in the community, activities, and story telling. Over the past decade, they have achieved remarkable success, producing three award-winning television seasons and staying true to their unwavering vision. Led by Founder and Executive Producer, Val Thomas-Matson, Look, Listen & Learn is currently in its fourth season of production with an expected air date of September 2nd. Our team was fortunate enough to attend a recording of an episode and can confirm viewers have a lot to look forward to this season!

LL+L TV's vision is built on the idea of creating a future marked by racial inclusion, where all children, regardless of their background, have equal opportunities to succeed and fulfill their true potential. By offering a platform that reflects diverse narratives and experiences, they are working towards breaking down barriers and promoting a society where representation is celebrated and embraced.

At the core of LL+L TV's mission lies a commitment to advancing early learning for children of color through the power of media and television. Their approach is underpinned by brain development research, promoting racial equity, and infusing radical joy into their programming. By leveraging the medium of television, LL+L TV strives to bridge educational gaps and empower young minds, laying the foundation for a brighter, more inclusive future.

At 47th Avenue, we are proud to partner with Look, Listen + Learn TV in their pursuit of creating a more equitable and inclusive world for our children.
